If you've been to a Columbus wedding overlooking Downtown, you were probably at The Renaissance. The Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel, located on Third Street, averages 30 to 35 weddings per year. The draw? The city-view terrace is one: It can hold 300 to 450 people, depending on the type of reception a couple chooses. "The terrace, during the spring to the fall, has a very urban feel," says Lauren Beach, senior catering sales executive at The Renaissance. "It's very unique. It's like a Chicago or New York feel when you're up there."

But that's not all. There's also a ballroom inside the hotel which can accommodate several hundred guests. And as for food: The Renaissance provides the food and beverages, although couples can bring in their own cakes. Menus change seasonally, and the chefs are more than willing to customize menus for special events.

"Indigenous is one of our key values," says Lauren Lawson, sales coordinator. "We like to bring a lot of local things in and to have people explore things in the city. Amenities are local. We'll send people to local places."

And here's another reason to check out The Renaissance: The 408 guest rooms are getting a complete renovation later this year, including restructuring the bathrooms to make them larger.

"We're educating brides and letting them realize this is a really cool space," Lawson says.
