Incorporating sustainability into your wedding is becoming increasingly popular (check out this story from the current issue of Columbus Bride). So why not make sure your flowers are sustainably grown, too? Enter Buckeye Blooms, a flower farm and floral design studio in Lima that services weddings all over the state of Ohio. Drawing from co-owner Susan Studer King's experience in Ecuador while she was in the Peace Corps (Ecuador is one of the largest rose-growing countries in the world, she explains) and her mom's knowledge (she had previously grown flowers for weddings), the duo began Buckeye Blooms on their family farm.

"We specialize in growing seasonal, sustainably grown flowers for weddings and special events," Studer King says.

With enough time, Buckeye Blooms can talk with couples to find out what they'd like and plant accordingly, custom-growing flowers and then doing the full-service design. Buckeye Blooms will deliver your flowers on your big day, too.

"We emphasize seasonality," Studer King explains. "Oftentimes brides are most concerned about colors and color palettes. We'll go over based on the month of the year what is typically available. We work with what's in season and what's in bloom based on that color palette. It's a very special day and those flowers capture a moment in time."
