Wait, who are you again?

Hi, I'm Emma Frankart Henterly! I started as editor of Columbus Weddings last month, and I'm already so in love with it. I have a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University-OU oh yeah! I married my college sweetheart (that's a thing, right?) Matt, last May, and we live in Columbus with our cat and dog. I love photography, reading, rock climbing, camping and of course, weddings.

So what brought you to Columbus Weddings?

I first worked for the magazine a few years ago, when it was called Columbus Bride, as an assistant editor. I left during some staffing changes to work in state government, but kept freelancing for every issue of the magazine while I was there. Eventually I realized that I got far more enjoyment from my freelance work than from my "real" job, so when I heard that the Weddings editor position was open, I leapt at the chance to interview. Getting the job offer was a little bit of a dream come true.

Why should we trust your expertise on weddings in Central Ohio?

Well, I've been involved in this very publication in some capacity for the last six years, so I'm pretty up to date on how it has evolved. I'm also pretty keen on what the magazine's audience is looking for, having just gotten past my own newlywed status. Between my large friend group and even larger family, I've been to dozens of weddings, filling the role of flower girl, bridesmaid and maid of honor at various points. On top of that, I have always-and I do mean always-been obsessed with weddings. I had a wedding Pinterest board from the very first day I set up an account…and I kept adding to it even after my big day was over. If I weren't in publishing, you'd probably find me in wedding planning.

Ok, you seem to know what you're talking about. What can we expect from you and Columbus Weddings?

Obviously, you can continue to expect the same great content you're used to seeing in the magazine and online; I wouldn't change that for the world! As for new stuff, look for lots of opportunities to engage. I'm a social media junkie and I can't wait to connect with all of you via our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest…and stay tuned for special Periscope broadcasts, too! I'm also really interested in what you guys and gals have to say, too. Have an idea, a compliment or (hopefully not) a complaint? You can reach me at any of those social media sites, or by email at ehenterly@columbusweddingsmag.com.
