Today we're honoring Christal and Nick Bell's first wedding anniversary! Congratulations Christal and Nick, and we hope you enjoy this look back at your wedding.

The pair met as coworkers; Christal needed access to a system at work and, as she puts it, "walked away with access to Nick's heart" in November 2009. From July 2012 to June 2015, they lived in different cities: Cleveland and Columbus. During that time, Nick spent six months planning the "perfect proposal." He created a candlelit picnic, complete with all of Christal's favorite foods, on the Scioto riverfront Downtown.

He then insisted that Christal pose with her back to the camera, under the pretense of getting the right lighting for a photo. When she turned around, Nick handed Christal a bouquet of roses and got down on one knee. When he opened the box, live butterflies flew out. (We know-we're dying too!) After Christal said yes, the pair released two more butterflies.

Just under two years later, Christal and Nick were wed at St. Joseph Cathedral. They threw a vintage-inspired reception, featuring lots of handmade items, at the Metropolitan Grand Ballroom. "It was important to us to make as much as possible by hand," says Christal.

"Overall, we really enjoyed having our family and friends celebrate," she adds. "The love, laughter, joy and support were more than we could ever ask for."
