When Amy and Shawn Gelsinger first met, they were mechanical engineering students at Ohio State University. Though they now live in Calgary (in Alberta, Canada), Shawn's proposal was quintessentially Columbus: He popped the question surrounded by Christmas lights in the Columbus Commons, after the pair attended a BalletMet performance of "The Nutcracker."
Just seven months later, the two wed in Merion Village in a traditional Catholic ceremony. Their cocktail hour featured a unique twist: It was hosted as a wine tasting, complete with hors d'oeuvres pairings. And with Cameron Mitchell catering the event, we're sure it was a tasty tasting.
Instead of a typical honeymoon to the Bahamas or Mexico, Amy and Shawn flew to Sydney, Australia, before continuing on to Cook Islands.
