Their proximity to Bexley, home to a large Jewish population, has made Berwick Manor Banquet Center & Catering's staff experts in Jewish wedding receptions. Their 58 years of experience in the nuptial and catering biz doesn't hurt, either.
"We have experience with kosher food, which many companies are not familiar with," says Stephanie Susi-Ochoa, sales and event manager. "And, we offer extensive menu options."
The facility hosts many Passover events every year and is able to serve the traditional Passover food, such as seder plates, grape juice, matzo and more.
For kosher weddings, Berwick prepares and cooks everything in an off-site kosher facility, Susi-Ochoa adds.
Most of the weddings Berwick caters happen off-site at synagogues, but couples can also have their ceremonies at the manor. There are six rooms from which to choose, including a space for more than 350 people.
The Berwick rental cost is entirely based on what menu style a couple chooses. That's where Berwick's popular complimentary tastings come in.
"We work with customers on the menus and bar to give them their ideal menu within their budget," Susi-Ochoa says.
Eight of your family and friends can sample up to six entrees, eight sides and appetizers and station menus during the tasting. There are myriad dinner options available, from three-course dinners to carving and buffet stations, Italian to American comfort food. The Berwick staff (usually a Susi family member) will work with you to mix and match the options so you get the most bang for your buck.
Couples are allowed to bring cake or dessert, too. However, the Berwick's dessert menu is tempting-it includes a "Breakfast Time" option ($2 per person) with assorted Resch's doughnuts and carafes of milk.
