Q&A with designer Christian Siriano about his new line with Lane Bryant and Runway Show at Nationwide Children's

Lane Bryant recently announced their latest designer collaboration with CFDA designer Christian Siriano, which debuted in Lane Bryant stores and online in late April.

To celebrate the launch, Siriano presented the collection at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Runway Show May 12, featuring nurses and staff as runway models. We caught up with the designer to talk about the spring line and why he wanted to partner with Nationwide Children's.

1.)How did your collaboration with Lane Bryant begin?

I absolutely love Linda Heasley, CEO of Lane Bryant, and all the brand continues to stand for in the celebration of women. Linda shared her vision for their newest collaboration and I absolutely wanted to be part of it.

2.)Tell us about your limited-edition fashion line for Lane Bryant, which debuted in late April?

For this collection, I combined old-school glamour with a modern whimsical twist using beautiful tailoring and intricate detailing. Fashion should never be defined by size. Regardless if it's for red carpet or a day at the office, every woman should feel stylish and comfortable in her clothes.

3.)Why did you decide to partner with Nationwide Children's Hospital for this fashion show? Why was supporting the hospital important to you?

Fashion should make you feel good. That's why I jumped at the opportunity to help Lane Bryant bring attention to an upcoming in-store promotion to benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital, one of the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospitals and research institutes in the United States that receives more than 1 million patient visits each year.

4.)What are some of your favorite pieces from the Lane Bryant collection? Why?

This collection is so close to me and it makes it nearly impossible to choose, however, I love the perforated moto outwear pieces. I created this collection to be fun, wearable and work well together. You can definitely take much of this collection from work to drinks with your best girlfriends!

5.)What's your best advice to help women stay on trend this season?

Fashion is meant to be fun! Whatever makes you feel good and confident--that's what you should gravitate towards.
