Starting this week, Hai Poke is serving its ahi tuna poke and veggie bowls weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. all summer long at PurePressed Juicery, 194 S. High St.
The Wolf's Ridge Brewing Co. taproomwill open a kitchen on June 22 with its menu focusing on sandwiches and bistro-style dishes like mussels, and steak and eggs.
Rockmill Brewery, the Fairfield County craft brewer, plans a major expansion into Columbus this year with the opening of two restaurants. Owner Matthew Barbee says he'll open a tavern in the former World of Beer space in the Brewery District's Worly Building and install a chef-driven restaurant in part of the space occupied by Juergen's Bakery.
The Angry Baker announced that it's opening a second bakery location in the King Avenue space previously occupied by Izzy and Mo's. Owner Vicki Hink plans to put a sit-down restaurant with an expanded menu next door in the former Till Dynamic Fare space.
Amy's Donuts, a mom-and-pop shop based in Colorado Springs, is now open on the West Side at 650 Georgesville Rd. The donut destination takes a page out of the Voodoo Doughnuts playbook with an insane array of flavors and toppings, like Trix cereal, Almond Joy and peanut butter, banana chips and bacon (aka The Elvis).
The Japanese Steak House, located at 479 N. High St., will close its doors on June 25.
There have been two departures from the North Market recently: Best of the Wurst and Bluescreek Farm Meats, which has relocated to a new butcher shop and market in Plain City.
