"It's usually in a ponytail. I go outside in the winter and it freezes. People who dry their hair in winter, I don't understand. It's just beyond me. It's mostly laziness. I value sleeping over fussing."

THE LOOK:

Golchin tells stylist Michael Bernal that she wants a look that's easy, soft, pretty and natural. Bernal, working with Golchin's natural rich brown, created random-looking, subtle highlights throughout with a technique called slicing that gives peeks, not streaks, of color variation. "I try to stay within three, four levels of the natural color so it's not drastically different," he says. Bernal cut about four inches off and then created interior layers to encourage volume. "Curly hair has a tendency to flatten out at the top and then all the volume ends up at the bottom," Bernal says. "By removing some of the weight from the bottom, we help create volume at the top to balance."
