There's nothing trendy about Cameron Mitchell's country-barn-meets-country-club steakhouse. Large portioned dishes aren't designed to share. Sinfully starchy potatoes haven't been swapped for quinoa. The Barn is a big ol' slice of classic Americana, right down to the plaid carpeting and Flintstone-sized pieces of house-made coconut cake. The nonconformity is refreshing for a CMR concept, even if the food, while well-executed, is a little prosaic, in step with CMR's please-all-palates style. Regardless, it's the details that hook us: specialty Woodford Reserve bourbons, a smoker visible from the four-season patio, a picture window with a front-row view of the meat cutter's station, and a free dip and pickle bar inside the Bourbon Lounge.
