We love a good makeover. It's hard to believe this hip little market-bistro hybrid with maraschino cherry-hued chairs used to be one of those seedy carryouts we couldn't wait to leave. But thanks to a rehab from the same restaurateurs who spiffed up The Crest Gastropub, visiting The Market is now like popping into a cafe in some cool Parisian arrondissement. And we want to linger. With wide windows that open to the sidewalk, a killer craft beer and cocktail list and sit-anywhere hospitality, it's an un-stuffy setting for chef Julian Menaged's high-end dishes. Menaged honed his skills at The Refectory and Spagio, and his passion for classic European cuisine shows. Sipping a French 75 and scooping rich bone marrow onto crostini with a tiny silver spoon never felt so cool. themarketiv.com
