In the late 1970s, dancer Sam Sodano of Arthur Murray Dance Studio of Columbus first organized The Ohio Star Ball, a dance-sport showcase that has since grown into the largest pro-am competition in the world (and has aired on PBS as "America's Ballroom Challenge," whose new season premieres April 24).
