During the past few weeks, I ate a lot of Cuban sandwiches in a hunt for the best in Columbus. You can read about my favorite sandwiches in this week's Alive.
And here are photos of some of the many varied Cubans found around Columbus. Pretty remarkable how different they all look, huh? Pictured up top is the Cuban sandwich at El Arepazo, which comes with the awesome spicy cilantro sauce for dipping.
Cuban sandwich from Starliner Diner, with a side of plantains.
Cuban Pressed Mixto from Katalina's, served on sourdough
And, my personal favorite, though admittedly not super authentic, the Cuban-OH from Knead. It's pork shoulder from Zanesville's Sweet Meadows farm that's been slow roasted in Buckeye Beer, paired with ham, Amish swiss cheese, pickles and aioli. Holy cow.
I ate many more Cuban sandwiches, but sometimes I forget to take pictures before devouring my food. Whoops.
