Cameron Mitchell Restaurants have put a name to their next restaurant set to open in Upper Arlington. Hudson 29 Kitchen + Drink will open at The Lane in early 2014, with a second incarnation by the same name to follow in the Market & Main development in New Albany in 2015.
The name is a merger of two American regions that have played a role in Cameron Mitchell's culinary development-the Hudson Valley, the location of Mitchell's Culinary Institute of America alma mater, and route 29, which runs through Napa Valley.
The American-inspired menu at Hudson 29 will feature flatbreads, farm-style salads, steaks, rotisserie roasted chicken and knife and fork sandwiches, as well as sushi. At the bar, the focus will be on wine with a California-inspired list of more than 200 bottles. Hudson 29 will also offer craft cocktails and beer. The atmosphere is meant to merge California with the Midwest in a mix of warm woods, leather and an exhibition kitchen with a rotisserie, grills and pizza oven.
Cameron Mitchell plans to open a second restaurant in summer 2014 at Rogers Market on Johnstown Road in Gahanna-an upscale causal steakhouse with a meat-cutting room, bake shop, bourbon lounge and terrace overlooking a creek.
