When MoJoe closed its Short North location last year, the Hype Park Restaurant Group quickly jumped on the lease with promises of a fresh concept. Today, the Cleveland-based restaurant group announced what that concept will be-a casual bar and eatery called Stack City Burger Bar.

Stack City will be a gourmet burger, sandwich and salad restaurant with seating for 100, plus an additional 75 on the patio facing High Street. The menu will emphasize freshness and Ohio-sourced products, but no other dish details were released. There will be a full bar with cocktails, including, liquor-spiked milkshakes, wine and 24 craft beers on tap (emphasis again on local and Ohio brews), with growler fills available.

The Hyde Park group is referring to Stack City as a boutique version of the typical burger joint. According to this morning's press release, the setting will hit on three notes: modern-industrial, nostalgic and the relaxed feeling of a sports bar (complete with TVs throughout the bar and dining room).

The 3,260 square-foot-restaurant and bar is slated to open in August at 600 N. High St. in the Short North.

The restaurant group, which operates Hype Park Steakhouse and Black Point in Columbus, has been tinkering with a burger bar concept for some time. When the former MoJoe space at The Cap became available last year, they tapped it as the perfect spot to launch this new concept. Stack City will join the growing list of burger bars around the city, including Bareburger down the street, Flip Side at Easton and B Spot in Gahanna.
