Paddy Wagon, the law enforcement-themed food truck, will open its second permanent location inside Rambling House Soda in Old North. The Appalachian-inspired eatery will be called Jailhouse | Roots, a sister to Jailhouse | Rock inside Little Rock Bar in Italian Village.

There's one thing to know about Zach James-he's committed to his pun game. When James was opening Jailhouse | Rock inside Little Rock Bar this time last year, he assured us the kitchen's naming convention was all part of the plan behind Paddy Wagon, his law enforcement-themed food truck of nearly five years.

Tomorrow, June 3, the self-proclaimed sheriff follows through on his word by opening Jailhouse | Roots, the truck's second satellite kitchen, inside Rambling House Soda's bluegrass-y Old North bar. But don't expect a watered-down version of the truck menu when you visit. James credits sous chef Eddie Stoddard (or, you guessed it, "the warden") with crafting dishes that would look and taste right at home inside Rambling House-or, say, while sipping a house-made Sarsaparilla soda and listening to fiddles. Stoddard, who has been running Jailhouse | Rock, will now oversee Jailhouse | Roots.

"We wanted to do more small plates as we adapted and grew at Little Rock," James says. "For this menu, we're calling it Appalachian-inspired cuisine. We'll have crawdads and corncobs, smoked oysters and changing dinner specials, in addition to Paddy Wagon's 'Most Wanted' cuisine."
