Eight of our current favorite items on Etsy--all from Columbus vendors.

Etsy is a go-to resource for many couples planning their weddings. But did you know that you can shop handmade and local? Check out our top Etsy picks for this month, all from shop owners based right here in Columbus.

What happens when you want a luxe wedding but also need to pay tribute to your sweetie’s sweet tooth? Black and gold rock candy pops from SparklingSweetsShop, of course. These fancy candies would be right at home at a New Year’s Eve reception, or any black-tie-style event that isn’t too stuffy. And at $24 for 12 pops, you can get the luxe look without the price tag.

Speaking of luxe, your ’maids will feel just that when you gift them these embroidered satin robes to get ready in on your big day. With nine colors to choose from, you can definitely find a flattering shade for all your ladies. The robes, from MagnificentMotifs, start at $22.

Whether you’re looking for a  hairpiece for the reception only or want to forgo a veil all day, this vintage-style floral comb from SterlingGurlDesigns is an excellent choice. It’s made to order, but at just under $40 you’re getting a quality accessory for a reasonable price.

Anyone who’s ever tried to DIY a ceramic- or glass-painting project knows just how tricky the process can be. That’s where the Etsy shop EsTeRaP comes in; it offers tons of hand-crafted décor items like these distressed painted vases. This listing is $55 for five small- to medium-sized vases, but custom orders are welcome for those who want to deck out their whole reception hall with shabby-chic ceramics.

There’s nothing quite like the look of watercolors, and this invitation set from BluebelleGraphics captures the aesthetic perfectly. The digital download is $35 and includes custom invite, RSVP and details cards. Digital downloads allow you to print invites on whatever paper you want, at home or through a professional service, for added convenience.

And while we’re looking at watercolors, make sure you check out these handmade table number cards. We adore the gold paint that swiftbeautifulfeet uses over the watercolor base, and the calligraphy is about as perfect as it gets. These are custom-order pieces, so the price will vary based on your needs—but the sample listing for one starts at $5.

No rustic wedding is complete without a tree element, and this real walnut wood ring box is a perfect choice. SullivanWoodwork makes the box, priced at $30, by hollowing out a bit of a branch and attaching the lid with a wooden peg. A custom engraving on the top pulls the whole look together.

Regular readers of Etsy Eight are no strangers to the work of carrieklein. Today we’re showcasing her lovely paper flower cake decorations, $30 for six. The paper flowers and leaves are attached to wooden dowels, making them easy to insert into your cake without getting icing everywhere, and custom color options are available.

That's it for this edition of the Etsy Eight. Check back next month for more from our favorite Columbus shops!
