Each week, we feature a couple from our last issue.
Whitney and Evan Nieto’s relationship, if you’ll excuse a mild paraphrase of Katy Perry, has been hot and it’s cold … but not at all in the way you might think.
A year and a half before their chic outdoor wedding at Irongate Equestrian Center last summer, Whitney and Evan sat inside on a cold Christmas with Whitney’s family. Evan worked with Whitney’s father to blindfold all of the girls for a surprise. They removed the blindfolds from everyone except the bride-to-be, and then, in front of the whole family, Evan popped the question. Pretty cool, if you ask us.
As for the hot part? The pair—who met while Whitney was playing league volleyball at Flannagan’s, where Evan worked—took it back to the sand with a trip to warm and sunny Cancun.
