Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph offers elegance, amenities and more.
Luxurious style. Exquisite cuisine. Impeccable service. All of this and more are available to couples that host their weddings at Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph, in the Short North Arts District. This unique Central Ohio venue pairs design inspired by the art collection of the Pizzuti family with the legacy and class of the Le Méridien family of hotels.
“The people that work here, they really live and breathe the Le Méridien brand,” says Maureen Caldwell, brand and marketing manager for The Joseph. “A lot of times, in other hotels, people just view it as a job. Here, staff are very authentic in their desire to help make your stay or event one to remember.”
From the rehearsal dinner to the Sunday brunch—and the ceremony, reception and hotel rooms in between—staff at The Joseph are able to deliver on the brand’s promise of an elevated experience.
Not to be overlooked is The Joseph’s two stunning art programs. The first features pieces from the world-renowned art collection of Ron and Ann Pizzuti that fills the common areas, including the lobby and the Soul bar within it. The second, known as Joseph Editions—Ohio Portfolio, comprises all artists with a tie to Ohio. Joseph Editions pieces can be found in each guest room and along a gallery hallway outside the ballrooms on the second floor of the hotel. All Joseph Editions pieces are available for purchase.
Together, The Joseph’s art programs set a backdrop unlike any other hotel in the city, providing a sophisticated ambiance highlighted by a personal, boutique experience.
“And anyone who stays here as a guest gets complimentary access, with their key card, to the Pizzuti Collection across the street,” explains Caldwell, referencing the gallery Ron and Ann Pizzuti opened in 2013 to share works from their private collection with the public. “That’s another thing for guests to do in their downtime during the wedding weekend.”
The Night Before
The Joseph’s flexible event spaces allow you to host your entire wedding weekend in one central location, including the rehearsal dinner. The Robinson room and Hamilton Junior Ballroom both provide beautiful backdrops, whether your rehearsal guest list includes 20 of your nearest and dearest or 60 out-of-town guests.
The food served in the event space comes from the Guild House and is sure to set the proper tone of luxury and sophistication for your wedding weekend. A concept of acclaimed Columbus restaurateur Cameron Mitchell, the Guild House’s suburb cuisine is among the best in the city, according to Columbus Monthly magazine (the parent publication of Columbus Weddings).
After the dinner, head downstairs to Soul Bar for another unique setting for family and friends to gather. Its remarkable wine list and unique craft cocktails are served in a chic, artistic setting that’s sure to spark more than a few conversations.
The Day Of
To-be-weds have the opportunity to rent one of The Joseph’s two luxurious spa suites to get ready in before the ceremony. Exclusive spa suites provide ample space for the entire wedding party and can be rented out in four-hour increments for hair and makeup artists to work their magic.
The suites’ custom stone and marble décor and extended vanities offering natural light are paired with a comfortable lounge area. Food and beverage is available in the suites and The Joseph offers complimentary sparkling wine when the suite is rented as get-ready space.
Wedding parties can transition quickly and easily downstairs to the ceremony via a private entrance in the Hamilton Junior Ballroom. This stunning space can accommodate up to 165 guests and offers floor-to-ceiling windows with gauzy, white pipe-and-drape to set the backdrop and fill the room with soft, natural light.
Following the ceremony, guests can flow into cocktail hour in the expansive pre-function gallery space located on the second floor, with more floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the electric energy of High Street. For dinner, guests move into the Michael B. Coleman Ballroom, which can seat 170 and also overlooks High Street. Executive chef John Paul Iacobucci collaborates directly with each couple to craft a reception menu that reflects their personality and taste; wedding packages include a choice of passed hors d’oeuvres, an epicurean buffet or plated entrée, a bar package, cake cutting, a champagne toast for all guests and more.
The Evening Of
When the last song has been played, family and friends can retire to their guest rooms—with a complimentary suite for the newlyweds—for a peaceful night’s rest. Signature LM platform beds, Smart LED TVs, genuine Amish-made furnishings and a refreshment center featuring Dean & DeLuca products mean no one will be left wanting.
The Morning After
After a night of celebration, you and your guests will likely wake up ravenous. Satisfy those hunger pangs with breakfast or brunch, either in The Guild House itself or in one of the versatile multifunction spaces on the second floor featuring offerings from the restaurant. The Guild House earned its spot as Columbus Monthly’s No. 3 restaurant in the city in part for its transcendent breakfast and brunch menus. Hailed as “the most interesting of Cameron Mitchell’s restaurants,” the Guild House turns the morning meal into fine dining.
From start to finish, a wedding at Le Méridien Columbus, the Joseph is sure to provide a luxury boutique experience and exceptional service at every turn. Your event will be a delight for the senses: The restaurant-quality food from one of the city’s top establishments—served in an elegant banquet setting—will stimulate your taste buds, while the inspirational space and art within it are a treat for the eyes and mind.
