Local Hotels Earn AAA Four Diamond Award
Whether you need a space for your ceremony, reception or just to house you and your guests after the big day, Columbus has six worthy options in its higher-end hotel chains, all of which have received the AAA Four Diamond Award—the highest in the state—in 2018.
“We are excited to receive the AAA Four Diamond award again this year, says Wendy Nicodemus, director of sales and marketing for Hilton Columbus at Easton. She credits the hotel’s recent $27.3 million renovation as a key factor in its continued selection for the award, which it has won annually since 2001.
Also awarded this year were the Hilton Columbus Downtown (since 2013), the Hilton Columbus/Polaris (since 2009), Hotel LeVeque (since it opened last year), Le Méridien Columbus, The Joseph (since opening in 2015) and the Renaissance Downtown Columbus (since 2008).
The AAA Four Diamond Award recognizes hotels for refined style, with “upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail,” says Kimberly Schwind, senior manager of public affairs for AAA. These six hotels make up just over six percent of the AAA Approved and Diamond rated hotels in North America. AAA ratings are notable because they’re based on unannounced, on-site evaluations by the company’s professional inspectors.
