Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.
For Caitlyn and AJ Otey, Ohio State is more than a university—it’s where they found the loves of their lives. The two met during a Working Professional MBA program, and according to AJ, it was love at first sight.
At the wedding itself, the couple cite the moments on the dance floor as the most memorable: Caitlyn says their first dance as man and wife is a memory they will cherish forever, and an uncle sang the song for Caitlyn’s dance with her father.
Any wedding at the Statehouse is bound to be gorgeous, but the Oteys upped the ante with some fun touches. Napkins were folded to look like Christmas trees in an homage to the season, and wine bottle décor helped guests find their seats in lieu of a traditional seating chart display. Dessert was unique, too; Caitlyn and AJ ditched a traditional wedding cake in favor of an OSU-themed one, and an ice cream bar—complete with personalized spoons and cups—completed the dessert offerings.
