Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.
Even though Hurricane Harvey hit hardest in the areas around the Gulf of Mexico, the wind and rain—aftereffects of the storm—stretched all the way to Columbus. For high school sweethearts Bailey and Ron Thorpe, the weather put a wrench in their plan for an outdoor wedding.
After moving the wedding inside to Strongwater Food & Spirits, where the reception was scheduled to take place, Bailey says the ceremony “turned out better than we thought it would have outside!”
From putting on her dress to her first looks with her dad, stepdad and husband, the ceremony was full with memorable moments for the bride. Her favorite special touch, Bailey says, was her “something old.”
“I created lockets to carry down the aisle with me on my bouquet of all of our grandparents who have passed away and were unable to be with us that day,” she says.
