Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.

When Jaimee and Ryan Wheeler first met, Ryan was speechless—literally. “Ryan had lost his voice, so he had to use the Notes app on his phone from time to time so I could understand what he was saying,” Jaimee recalls. “It was so cute!” The day Ryan graduated from Capital University Law School, he asked Jaimee to marry him during a celebratory dinner with family and friends at Marcella’s.

At their wedding, which carried a “classic elegance” theme, the newlyweds paid homage to their parents’ first dances—both sets of parents had chosen “Endless Love” by Lionel Richie and Diana Ross—by inviting them to dance to that tune once more immediately following their own first dance as a married couple.

That wasn’t the only musical tribute, however. May 26 is Jaimee’s nephew’s birthday, so at the reception, the DJ invited everyone to gather around him on the dance floor to sing “Happy Birthday,” followed by his favorite song—Rihanna “Work” featuring Drake.

“He showed his dance moves, and it was very entertaining,” Jaimee says of her nephew. “He had everyone laughing and cheering him on!”
