Real newlyweds give wedding planning tips based on their experience.

Jameson and Brittney Thompson’s wedding took place on Oct. 6, 2017, at La Navona.

If you could do anything about your wedding differently, what would you change and why?

I honestly wouldn’t change any particular detail. ... The only thing  I could think of is, I would not have us stress so much over things. At the end of the day, it was all about us and having fun. I didn’t care about the tiny details; I only cared about us.

What are you happy you spent money on?

A high-quality photographer and venue.

What do you think you could have done without?

Real flowers; fake would have been fine, and Brittney could have kept her bouquet .

What was your biggest surprise when planning your wedding?

How much time we had to dedicate to planning. It was like an additional job.

What do you wish you’d known before you started planning?

How stressful it was going to be.

Did you experience any wedding-day snafus?

The tuxedo company delivered the wrong suit to one of the groomsmen. We didn’t tell Brittney; we made sure to call the company and have them deliver the correct one. She wasn’t told until after the wedding.

Did you and your fiancé get into any silly arguments?

We didn’t have any arguments between us. She had a few with her mom, more so in the beginning of planning, about the date and the bridesmaid dresses. I reminded her this was our wedding and no matter what date we picked, her family was going to be there. We just needed to do what was best for us.
