Celebrating the couples from our most recent issue on their anniversaries
It’s no secret that September is a popular month for weddings, and the couples in our current issue are proof of that. Today we’re celebrating two couples who wed last year:
Lizzie and Cody Cooper said “we do” at Williamsport United Methodist Church before heading to Lizzie’s parents’ home for a backyard reception. Hurricane Gordon brought unexpected rain to the day, but that didn’t deter the coopers. “I definitely think it made the day more memorable,” Lizzie says. “My parents had crazy weather at their wedding years ago, when they had a tornado and had to move their ceremony location. They have had a long, loving relationship so we joke that since theirs has been so great, that can only mean good things for ours too!” The rain even helped contribute to one of Lizzie’s favorite wedding-day photos; see it here, then check out the Coopers’ Real Wedding Wednesday feature, too.
The next day, the rain continued for Haley and Landon Slater’s own backyard ceremony and reception. Thanks to Haley’s step-father’s foresight, everyone stayed dry under rented tents. And like Lizzie, Haley didn’t mind the drizzle. “The rain made everything more beautiful in color, creating images that we adore and will cherish forever,” she says. The high-school sweethearts also were the feature of a recent Real Wedding Wednesday post, and one thing’s certain: Haley wasn’t wrong about those gorgeous images.
