Thought all barn weddings were full of rustic details like dark wood and casual vibes? Think again.
In Central Ohio, the “rustic barn” aesthetic has become so ubiquitous, it’s basically moved from “trend” to “mainstay.” We’ve seen more raw wood, twinkle lights and wildflower bouquets than we can shake a mason jar at. Not that we’re complaining. The vibe is popular for a reason—it’s lovely. Done well, it’s downright gorgeous.
But we’re all about shaking things up and trying something new, so when we saw this bright, airy and elegant styled shoot at Alum Creek Farm, we were floored. It’s the perfect mix of rustic (café lights, loose florals) and sophistication (clean lines, rhinestone accents), and that’s just what photographer/stylist Aseel Brodd was going for.
“I wanted to give another style to the farm [showing] that you can also transform it into a luxurious place,” Brodd says. “A farm theme could be something as simple as the phrase, ‘classic elegance.’ ”
This shoot featured three models—couple Tara Luth and Jared Meyer, and the reigning Miss Ohio Junior Teen, Anisha Boone.
“I reached out to [Boone] to see if she could be part of [the shoot],” Brodd says. “I saw that her beauty and her sweet personality would be a great fit for our style.”
