Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.
Couples first meet during various stages of life: the classic high school sweethearts, a college club mixer, the office. But some, like Slone and Jared Thacker, meet during middle school.
Years after the eighth grade, and after dating for five years, they went for a hike on a snowy night. It ended with a candlelit picnic and a proposal overlooking a scenic pond.
The following November, a string quartet played music for the ceremony. This is where one of the most memorable parts of the night for Slone happened: the first look. Another first and another fond memory, the first dance, followed soon after. With the dancing and fun coming to a close, a sparkler sendoff concluded the night.
