Each week, we feature a couple from our latest issue.

Devery and Eric Turner’s “romantic/traditional”-themed wedding placed a lot of emphasis on family—and it’s not surprising, considering the surprise Eric set up for his proposal. After dating for three years, he took Devery to the restaurant where they’d had their first date. When they arrived, Devery was confused and surprised to find both of their families and closest friends already seated at a table.

“As I turned around to question why they were all there together, Eric got down on one knee and proposed,” Devery recalls.

A year later, the couple decorated their venue with photos from their grandparents’ and parents’ weddings; a remembrance table honored late family members as well.

In a similar vein, Devery remembers speeches from her father, maid of honor, bridesmaid and Eric’s best man as being highlights of the day … along with an impromptu performance by one of Eric’s friends at the reception. The most memorable moment, however? “Seeing each other for the first time on the day of the wedding as I was walking down the aisle,” she says.
