Local wedding vendors you should know
Long known as one of the most gorgeous contemporary wedding venues in the city, the Columbus Museum of Art offers a host of stunning spaces for your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We chatted with Olivia Karp, the venue’s new event sales manager, to learn more about the space.
First, tell us about yourself—who’s the face behind all these gorgeous weddings?
I’ve been working in the industry for six years and at the museum for one year. I’ve never experienced an environment as welcoming as CMA, and that is the feeling I work to bring to my clients every day. Let’s talk about what makes your vision, love and big day unique, and make it happen at CMA!
And what should folks know about the museum itself?
At the Columbus Museum of Art, our mission is to create curated experiences for all. Our team is here to make your event memorable, from your first visit to the final dance. With over 50 weddings a year, we are happy to bring our expertise to make sure the planning process and big day are worry-free.
What sets CMA apart from other venues in the area?
The mission and setting of the museum. Not only is the building beautiful because of the contrast of classic and contemporary architecture, but your guests will be able to experience the exhibits with their loved ones. By hosting your wedding at the museum, you are supporting our mission of “art for all.”
What can couples expect when they book their wedding at the museum?
While you will have one point of contact throughout the whole planning process, your event manager is being supported by a full team of event professionals that care deeply about the experience of our wedding clients. You can expect a high level of dedication, expertise and care that stems from a team of supportive and attentive individuals.
What’s something about planning a wedding at CMA that you wish more people knew?
We love your big ideas! The creativity of our couples bring the spaces to life. When you ask the question “what if” and bring your creative energy to the spaces, it makes events even more fun. Wedding events are just another form of art we see at the Columbus Museum of Art.
