Columbus College of Art & Design students showcase their collections.
Friday night, 14 seniors and one MFA student showcased the collections they designed as capstone projects at the Columbus College of Art & Design. Held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center for the first time, the evening began with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and displays of pieces from the participating designers. Karina Nova of WBNS-10tv acted as emcee for the event, which was followed by a dance party in the lower atrium, in front of “As We Are”—the giant “selfie machine” art installation—and a VIP jazz lounge.
The well-attended show received strong audience feedback, particularly for Chelsea Funk’s line of adaptive children’s wear, Kathryn Geraci’s travel-inspired dresses, Natalia Monserrate’s dreamy collection inspired by Roman goddess Diana and Damien Tobi’s exploration of latex and velvet.
