Fellowship plans spaghetti dinner
Pathways Fellowship is planning a spaghetti dinner along with a live and Chinese auction as a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Cambridge VFW Hall, 1427 E. Wheeling Ave.
Suggested donations are $7 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under. All proceeds go to benefit the Pathways Fellowship. The meal, served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert. The Chinese auction is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the live auction is from 4-6 p.m.

VBS at Birds Run
Vacation Bible School will begin on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Birds Run Community Church. The theme is, "The Lord’s Prayer." Join us for a day of fun, food, faith and art. VBS fun for preschoolers through sixth grade and a first time teen/adult class with a surprising twist! Local artist Myrtle Beall will deliver a message to the teen/adult class on the topic, "The Lords Prayer." Then Myrtle will artistically guide participants in painting a beautiful landscape watercolor displaying, "The Lord’s Prayer." Painting is an option not a requirement to attend the class. Donations are asked for the painting participants and those donations will go toward the church’s handicap ramp. Lunch will be provided.

New Christian recovery program
The Calix Society is an alcohol and drug recovery group for addicts, alcoholics and family and friends of those struggling with addiction issues.
The group incorporates the AA 12-Steps as the primary tool to overcome addictions . It recognizes that many people’s lives are affected by a loved one who is addicted to drugs or alcohol or that we may have other obsessions/addictions ourselves.
The Calix Society incorporates open expression of our spiritual healing needs into the 12 Step program through prayer, meditation, the Sacraments and worship. The Cambridge Calix Society meets in the street level Conference room (Gomber Ave side) at St. Benedict’s Church every Saturday from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m., following the 5 p.m. Mass. People of all faiths who want to grow in a spiritual program of healing are welcome.
Beckett Church Fall Bazaar

Sidewalk Prophets in Zanesville
ZANESVILLE — The Sidewalk Prophets "Something Different" tour will be at Secrest Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 12. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show featuring the award-winning contemporary Christian band will begin at 7 p.m. Special guests are Bonray and Carmen Justice.
The free show is being presented by the Ohio Stave Company and Wayne True Love Ministries. Sidewalk Prophets won the 2010 GMA Dove Award for "New Artist of the Year", earned a nomination for pop/contemporary "Album of the Year" and a 2011 nomination for "Group of the Year."
