Affair to remember

Showcasing the best of Central Ohio restaurants - along with more than 400 international wines - Miss Bella and entourage member Kevin Maguire were like kids in a candy store at the sixth-annual Columbus Food & Wine Affair, Friday night at the Franklin Park Conservatory.

Excessive humidity resulted in a hot and sticky night, but as the evening drew to a close the skies opened up and it poured. Initially not thrilled about the rain, we soon realized our good fortune: Literally stranded in a tent with David from Firelands Winery (and his bottles of wine), along with Mitchell's Quinn Allen and executive chef Matt Goings, who still had plenty of lobster ravioli and short rib Bolognese to go around, we started an impromptu party.

And since this year's Food and Wine Affair raised nearly $170,000 for six local charities, we had something to celebrate!
