Last week's Classic Malts Whisky tasting dinner at Smith and Wollensky was a bittersweet occasion. As usual, the whisky was accompanied by a superb meal and excellent music from bagpiper Jeff Linn, but it also marked the final Columbus tasting for Master of Whisky Robert Sickler, who's moving to Colorado.
"Columbus, thank you for your adventurous palates, your open hearts, your open minds and the love you've given to the exquisite whisky I am fortunate enough to represent," Sickler said.
Smith and Wollensky's Chris Taylor said Sickler will be missed. "We're losing not only a good Master of Whisky, but a good friend," Taylor said.
