The Pub

Since 2000, Elevator Brewery has landed in the beautiful and historic Bott Brothers building Downtown. Inside, there's stunning stained-glass windows, a splashy, geometrically patterned floor and restored 19th-century (playable!) pool tables. But Elevator's interior also features lots of contrasting blue-hued modern touches along with a lengthy, flat-screen-equipped, belly-up bar.

The Brew

Elevator's beers are now trucked in from Marysville - and there's lots of them. Elevator usually offers a dozen on tap and they're all over the map. So from the mild "Heifer" weizen to the hoppy IPA to the dark, roasty doppelback to an altbier with floral notes and a malty "Nut-n-Honey" brown ale, there's surely something here for everyone.

The Grub

This Elevator's menu goes up to ambitious steak and seafood fare with, say, Asian or Southwestern flairs or down to fun pub grub, often with a little spin. Recently I dug into these: Ryan's Corn Brats - five skinny sausages enrobed in a super-crunchy fish-n-chips-type batter and served with warm kraut and spicy mustard (loved that one), and pork sliders - a quartet of plump four-bite sandwiches crammed with juicy pulled pork and served with a pigload of thick, impossible-to-stop-crunching housemade potato chips.
