Fundraiser: Condom Couture

No matter how many colors they come in, it takes a special kind of creativity to see condoms as more than protection or an alternative to balloons at bachelor parties. On Oct. 1, for the second-annual "Condom Couture" fundraiser for Planned Parenthood of Central Ohio, 12 Columbus College of Art & Design students aim to prove they have the skills to turn condoms into a unique fashion statement suitable for outside the bedroom (pictured is one of last year's entries). Finished pieces will be displayed in a lively runway show, modeled by local community leaders and judged by CCAD Visual Communications dean Richard Aschenbrand, Columbus Museum of Art adjunct fashion curator Charles Kleibacker and stylist Amy Salinger of HGTV's Hidden Potential.
