During a playwriting residency with Philadelphia's InterAct Theatre Company last year, writer-performer Sean Christopher Lewis was approached with a challenge by an arts group working with the incarcerated: create a new work based on the experiences of lifers at maximum-security Graterford Prison. Using the city's spiraling murder rate for additional inspiration, Lewis not only completed the challenge with the play Killadelphia, he took on every part himself. That includes convicts, cops, politicians and citizens trying to stay out of the crossfire of gang violence, as well as Lewis himself as the audience's guide. This weekend he brings his one-man show to Columbus for six performances, hosted by Available Light Theatre.
