Theater: The Woman in Black

One of the more frightening themes in horror is the idea of a space that's safe theoretically, but not really. On that note, you have a chance to get unnerved on multiple levels during the latest production by Whistling in the Dark Theatre Company, The Woman in Black. Stephen Mallatratt's adaptation of a Victorian-inspired ghost play, which follows a solicitor who's forced to rethink his skepticism about ghosts and cursed old houses, has a perfect setting in the reportedly haunted Shedd Theater. And prior to the 9 p.m. performances, brave theatergoers can take a short guided walk to a few more haunted spaces in the Discovery District.
