Dance: Anthro(pop)ology

Anna and the Annadroids are probably the city's most visible professional dancers this side of BalletMet. The product of dancer-choreographer Anna Sullivan's Anatomical Scenario Movement Theatre, they've taken their humorous, highly conceptual act to virtually every performance venue in Columbus and made a number of appearances on street corners and in store windows. The notoriety should help bring attention to Sullivan's latest project: Anthro(pop)ology. For this new series, Anatomical Scenario is collaborating with other local groups "that think and frolic outside the box." Alongside a Sullivan piece on the evolution of human sexuality, "Tantric Tantrums," (pictured) the first edition includes Coco Loupe Dance's movement interpretation of an internet slide show and TUPACO Dance's suggestive piece on health and fitness, "Bring Out Your Big Balls."
