Lies, truths and the gray space in between are the theme of eight pieces to be presented in Raconteur Theatre Company's latest, beginning tonight.

The group solicited scripts from across the country for this year's incarnation of the Flex Series, an annual show that's tackled the subjects of love and compromise in its two previous installments.

"Yours, Mine and the Truth" includes scripts like "Line," which tells of a man's untrained attempt to field calls to a suicide hotline, and "The Cliff Thing," which discusses the dead's ability to play tricks on the living.

The eight scripts last about 10 to 15 minutes each, Raconteur Theatre President Jill Hartley said, and require enough actors and directors that audience members will see plenty of new faces during the performances.

"The purpose of the Flex Series is to allow patrons to see a little or a lot of theater in an evening," she said, adding that attendees can choose to watch one half or the entire show.

"We hope this reaches out to people who are not generally theater-goers because is it a smaller commitment."
