Preview: Art al Fresco

As opportunities to comfortably dine al fresco grow fewer (boo), al fresco art will pop up along High Street. Just like its dining companion, Art al Fresco is fresh and out in the open. This event has been going strong since 2008 and draws thousands of people to the Short North.

Visitors will see art in unexpected places and spaces. In the past, art has been suspended between buildings and dangled from trees. Performance artists will roam the event, too, and will show off their talents in store windows and along the street. For 10 hours, High Street will become artists’ stage and gallery.

Wonderland’s QR Code exhibit will make a return after its debut at the September Gallery Hop. Point your smartphone at any of the QR codes on wooden stands throughout the Short North and be transported — digitally, at least — to art on the web.
