Staff Pick: Exquisite Corpse 2
Although it sounds like the name of a virtuosic death metal band, “exquisite corpse” is the term for a game popularized by Surrealist artists in the 1920s.
There are many versions of the idea, but basically the artists would fold a piece of paper into three sections and one artist would draw a head, another would draw the torso, and a third would draw the legs. They could not see what the other artist had drawn until pencils were down and the final drawing was unveiled. The blind collaboration was fun for artist and viewer.
Same idea here. Artists have created pieces together and are auctioning them off to benefit the Columbus Artmobile. The exhibit is free, BYOB and full of live entertainment, including Audrey & Orwell (shown), Mike Wojniak, Coal Fired Bicycle and CoCo Loupe.
