Preview: Mardi Gras (Columbus Style)

Heather Gross, Columbus Alive

West Rich Street will feel a little like Bourbon Street on Saturday night. Revelers won't be drinking hurricanes in the street, but they will be imbibing inside the art studio space 400 West Rich.

The BYOB Mardi Gras party is a great way to meet the artists based at 400 West Rich. The studios will be open, and artists will be handing out beads at their discretion - some beads may be easier to obtain than others. There will also be DJs, a costume contest, fortune-telling, fire and stilt performances by Quantum Fire and The Amazing Giants, and belly dancers from Habeeba's. Those holding grudges can make their own voodoo dolls with help from Etsy Team Columbus. Evil third-grade teacher, be forewarned.
