Meet Andy Scheinbach of St. James Tavern
The "Men of St. James Tavern" have stripped down for women's empowerment. St. James Tavern is currently offering a 2017 calendar featuring staff, customers and friends of the bar, with proceeds benefitting Women Have Options. Read the story behind the projectand learn more about Mr. April below.
Name: Andy Scheinbach
Occupation: Bartender. "I've been in this business for more than 20 years at this point in time. I just love it. I can't imagine really doing anything else. I get these flights of fancy that I want to be an auto mechanic or I could be a full-time carpenter but then it's always like I really, really like this job. For about two years I was an office manager. And it's not that the people that I worked with weren't nice, but it's like seeing the same eight people all the time is just not really for me."
Relationship status: Single
Current neighborhood: Merion Village
Hobbies: "Besides drinking? I do construction work. I have built some furniture in the past, not that I'm an expert but I'm trying, I'm working on it. I am a turntablist, not a very good one, not really for anybody except for me and my roommates but I do collect a lot of vinyl and I like to spin records. But mostly I like hanging out with my friends and staying close to my family."
What are you looking for in a partner? "Somebody in this business would be preferable [due to unconventional hours]."
The "Men of St. James Tavern" calendars are now available for $20 each at St. James Tavern or online at womenhaveoptions.org.
