Columbus Alive FAQs

Answers to your most common questions about our award-winning online publication

Columbus Alive
Columbus Alive

Columbus Alive is part of Dispatch Magazines and published by Gannett Co. Inc. It is an of-the-moment arts site that provides the community weekly can’t-miss entertainment options, in addition to highlighting the people, places and conversations driving Columbus’ music, arts, dining and activist scenes.

Our coverage takes readers to off-the-beaten-path treasures and finds new ways for residents to look at longtime favorites, as well as focusing on those areas where political and social issues intersect with arts and culture. We aim to give our readers the access and information to better connect with Columbus, whether it’s as simple as choosing a happy hour or as complex as engaging in the numerous issues that affect their lives and shape our city’s present and future.

The magazine transitioned to an online only publication in mid-2019. Many of Alive’s stories are recognized annually by The Press Club of Cleveland’s Excellence in Journalism Awards as well as the Ohio’s Best Journalim Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists.

The editor of Columbus Alive is Andy Downing.
