Daily Distraction: Take pleasure in Sarob's new single (for a good cause)

Joel Oliphint

After releasing Fear & Impermance at the end of last year, Band to Watch alumnus Sarob is back with a new single, "Pleasures U Like." The smooth, sensual track finds the MC and crooner flaunting his FICO bona fides ("No kids, my credit great") and questioning his mate's motives ("Do you really love me or my company?/Cuz who am I to you anyway?") over a chill, sunset-in-the-summertime beat.

Sarob is also hoping to do some good with this new song.

Last week, Alive looked into the impact of the novel coronavirus on Columbus' homeless community, an aspect that often gets overlooked amid talk of the virus. But the Coalition on Homelessness and Housing in Ohio (COHHIO) is doing its part with the Pandemic Emergency Fund, which issues grants to "help local homeless shelters limit the spread of COVID-19 among their residents, staff and the broader community."

Sarob is partnering with COHHIO, donating all sales from "Pleasures U Like" to the Pandemic Emergency Fund. Plus, all proceeds up to $5,000 will be matched by another local business. Also, at 5:30 p.m. today, Sarob and COHHIO Advocacy Director Gina Wilt will host an Instagram Live discussion of music, housing and homelessness.
