Daily Distraction: Vibe out to new Sunburned Hand of the Man

Sunburned Hand of the Man

Massachusetts free-rock act Sunburned Hand of the Man is back with a new song, "Flex," from forthcoming album Pick a Day to Die, out March 12 on Three Lobed Recordings.

Fans of improv rock collectives like the No-Neck Blues Band will find lots to love in this new track, but it's also just a great, mostly instrumental song to ride and vibe with — click-y, funky guitar riffs; smile-and-nod bass grooves; and synth sounds beamed in from some distant but extremely chill planet.

Assembled from Sunburned recording sessions between the years of 2007 and 2017, "Flex" includes contributions from Jeremy Pisani (guitar), Ron Schneiderman (guitar), Gary War (synth/samples), Rob Thomas (bass), John Moloney (drums) and Sarah Gibbons (vocals). Check it out below via Bandcamp.
