Staff Pick: Art for Life 2012

Saturday the Columbus Museum of Art is hosting the annual Art for Life fundraiser, which benefits AIDS Resource Center of Ohio (formerly the Columbus AIDS Task Force).

Columbus galleries provided works by renowned artists such as Aminah Robinson, Denny Griffith and Ann Hamilton. More than 150 local independent painters, photographers and artists also donated work to be auctioned in silent and live bidding contests at the Art for Life party.

General admission costs $100, but 90 cents of every dollar raised from ticket and art auction sales goes to ARC, which is opening a holistic medical center and pharmacy in the Short North for people living with HIV and AIDS. The doors open just two days after Art for Life.

Making a difference and supporting local art — not bad for a Saturday Night.
