Arts preview: Historical society celebrates local authors

Staff Writer
Columbus Alive

Columbus has a good foundation of local authors. Here’s your chance to meet some of them. For aspiring local writers, maybe this event could inspire a new project and the motivation to get working. Six local authors will be on hand for a meet-and-greet, discussion and book signing.

The six participating authors (with books in parenthesis) are: Rikki Santer (“Kahiki Redux”), Mary Joe Bole (“Combing Columbus”), Conrade C. Hinds (“Columbus and the Great Flood of 1913: The Disaster that Reshaped the Ohio Valley” and “The Great Columbus Experiment of 1908: Water Works that Changed the World”), David Meyers and Elise Meyers Walker (“Columbus State Community College: An Informal History”) and James Dailey II (“Inside the Ohio Penitentiary”).

The event begins with the meet-and-greet at 6 p.m., with food and drink provided by Maki Go, Brezel and Melt Bar and Grilled. The discussion begins at 7 p.m. The book signing follows. All books are on sale in the COSI gift store.
