Staff Pick: "Masterwork" at Tacocat Cooperative

Jesse Tigges, Columbus Alive

For the month of May, Tacocat is inviting outside artists to exhibit their best work in the cooperative's gallery space, and it should represent some of the best Columbus has to offer. The Grandview artists' studio put out a call to artists asking to submit what they believe is one of their best pieces - in any medium - and jurors Tom Katzenmoyer of the Greater Columbus Arts Council and Mary Gray, director of the Ohio Arts Council Riffe Center Gallery, will choose a select few for a small group show. The idea is quality over quantity. At the opening reception Friday, attendees will be given ballots to select which piece is deserving of the title "masterwork" and receive a $250 cash prize. Make sure to see which artists and pieces were chosen - it's sure to be a fantastic collection - and have a say in the winner.
