Staff Pick: "Game Masters: The Exhibition"

If the current fascination with arcade bars in the city is any indication, "Game Masters: The Exhibition," hosted by COSI, should be a welcome experience this summer. Curated by the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, the exhibition explores 50 years of classic arcade, handheld and mobile games, with more than 100 available for playing onsite.

"We expect a fun, engaging, educational experience for our guests," said COSI Project Manager Josh Kessler.

Museum patrons will have the opportunity to study concept art and interviews with influential video game designers in three key sections. "Arcade Heroes" focuses on game designers of vintage 1970s and 1980s arcade games. "Game Changes" highlights game designers credited for major developments in the industry. "Indies" looks at 14 present-day independent game designers, and features games such as Minecraft, Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja.

COSI is one of just two U.S. venues hosting "Game Masters." The exhibition will be open Saturday, June 11.
